Soccer has taken on a new identity in the country and it is with a real sense of pride when Americans say they are fans of soccer rather than being looked down on by fans of other sports. Later this year we will see USA along with other countries compete for the World Cup in Qatar. Fans are on the lookout best free bet offers regarding the USA but will they even make it out of the group?

What can they do?

The USA have been to quite a few World Cups but never managed to get past the quarter finals. However, they have always left an impression. Whether that be amazing kits or superb goals, the USA have always taken the world by a storm…even with chants such as “I Believe!”

However, they will be wanting to go one further than just be there to make the numbers and enjoy the time. With players like Christian Pulisic of Chelsea, Weston McKennie of Juventus, Sergino Dest of Barcelona and Timothy Weah of Lille all under the age of 23 playing high quality European football they could have a real chance of upsetting some opposition fans.

Who will they face?

USA have been seeded in Group B alongside some good rivals for them. Group B is looking like the group where it may all happen. With still one team to be decided due to the ever concerning issue in Ukraine, USA will play England and Iran it what could be two feisty affairs.

England come into the tournament as one of the favourites and the two sides last met in the 2010 World Cup where a Rob Green howler meant that the two sides started the tournament with a 1-1 draw. England are in a much stronger position than they were in 2010 following a 4th place finish at the last World Cup and a 2nd place finish at Euro 2020.

Iran arrive into the tournament after topping their qualification group which included a 14-0 drubbing of Cambodia. Iran then topped the third round after only losing one game. They could be a real surprise and could repeat the feat of beating the USA at the tournament just like they did in the most politically charged game in 1998.

With the last team possibly being Scotland, Wales or Ukraine the USA will be hoping that they can escape the group in 2nd place. If they struggle to make 2nd then they are out as there is no safety net of best placed 3rd.

The national side should be to get out of the group as bare minimum but this US side could surprise many fans across the world and even many back home. With a real ambiton to make the quarter finals would equal their best performance at a World Cup since 2002 in South Korea and Japan. This is when head coach Gregg Berhalter was a player!
