The thin Cat6 cable is more flexible and manageable than regular Cat6 cables because it creates more room. As a result, it is simpler to route cables through crowded cabinets. Thin Cat6 cables are typically utilized on high-density panels because of this.

Cable for poe

Poe switches support the use of both thin Cat6 cable and regular RJ45 Cat6 cable. The maximum amount of power that may be transmitted on a narrow Cat6 cable is 30W. In other words, poe transmission using standard low-power poe is the only application for Cat6 skinny cables.

As a result, it is typically advised to utilize a normal Cat6 cable when connecting a high-power device.

Choosing an Ethernet cable for Cat6

Choosing a cable is actually pretty easy; it largely depends on the network environment you are working in. Thin Cat6 cables and conventional Cat6 cables can both be used if the Ethernet speed is only 1/10gbase-T.

For data center and SMB applications, thin Cat6 and conventional Cat6 cables are perfect. Thin 28AWG FS Ethernet cables and RJ45 Cat6 cables are both suitable options for this application scenario.

However, the thin shape makes ventilation in small places easier. Thin Cat6 cables are suited for use in smbs and high-density data centers. The optimum cabling option for this application is FS thin Cat6.


In comparison to other typical connections, a thin Cat6 cable is a great choice because it conserves space, enhances airflow, and makes maintenance easier. However, choosing the right Ethernet cable for your purposes is crucial.
