Okay, The Games of Thrones series might have ended, but it does not mean you cannot read the books. So to help lead you through every A Song of Ice and Fire book ever published, we have the list right here for you. But a note is that the series is still not completed. So, for example, in the A Song of Ice and Fire series, you get five books. But the intended number is to be seven, according to the author George R.R. Martin.
1. A Game of Thrones
The first book in A Game of Thrones book series by George R.R. Martin is a fantasy novel, A Song of Ice and Fire, released in 1996. In the book, you learn about the noble houses of Westeros, Targaryens, and the Wall. In addition, you read about recounting events from a wide selection of points of view.
2. A Clash of Kings
In the book, the Seven Kingdoms are at war as the Night’s Watch conducts scouting missions of the people known as the wildlings. At the same time, Targareyne’s quest is to rule the Seven Kingdoms. King Baratheon has passed away, leaving his son Joffrey to rein the Iron Throne.
3. A Storm of Swords
It is the longest book in the franchise and is set in a fictional world that resembles medieval Europe. Here the Battles of Blades starts where the Battle of Kings left off. Each king is battling for his thrones even if Renly died. Then you have the coalition between House Tyrell and House Lannister supported by Joffrey, who defeated the Stannis plant to seize King’s Landing.
4. A Feast for Crows
It is the fourth of the seven future novels by Martin’s epic fantasy, A Song of Ice and Fire. Unfortunately, the book only features some POV characters from the previous novels and some new ones that pop up occasionally. But the remaining characters pop up later in A Dance with Dragons.
The story takes up where it ended in A Storm of Sword as The War of the Five Kings starts ending. In the book Greyjoy, the brothers Baratheon and Robb Stark have died. The story goes on where Joffrey’s brother Tommen now rules under the constant watch of his mother.
5. A Dance with Dragons
The book was planned as part of a trilogy and continues where A Storm of Swords ended running with concurrent events in A Feast of Crows.
6. The Hedge Knight
It is another collection by Martin and appeared for the first time in the Legends series. It is all tales of different fantasy writers with their lush gorgeous writing.
7. The Sworn Sword
The book is about the complicated road of trivial feuds and heroism of being a sworn man in the Seven Kingdoms. Reading the book, you learn about the summer drought in the Seven Kingdoms and learn about Dunk’s sword being sworn in. Characters such as Dunk and Egg return to find a nearby stream dried up. Later they find a dam constructed by the orders of Lady Rohanne Webber upstream. So as you can see, the fight becomes all about water.
The Last Three Books
· The Mystery Night appeared in 2010 with the Warriors anthology. In the book, you read about Ser Duncan the Tall and Egg. They are riding across the Riverlands on their way North to serve under Lord Beron Stark. Duncan is the mystery knight but gets defeated in a tournament by Ser Uthor Underleaf in the first round.
· The Princess and The Queen is a novel that is part of the Dangerous Woman anthology.
· The Rogue Prince follows the sequel of Viserys alliance with his brother Prince Daemon. Basically, it tells tales before the tragic events of The Princess and The Queen with King Viserys. The entire plot was included in the end novel The World of Ice and Fire but cut because it became too long.
