Google has kept the core design of the Home Mini, but has made a few small changes. At first glance, it’s almost impossible to distinguish between the old Google Home Mini and the new Nest Mini. Google could have given it a different design like Amazon did for the Echo Dot 3rd Gen.
The speaker still has a cloth cap made from recycled plastic bottles. Google offers the Nest Mini in four color options: chalk, charcoal, coral, and sky. We had the Coral color variant for this review. The capacitive controls on this speaker are hidden under this layer of fabric. There are four LEDs that light up when you turn on the device and when you call the Google Assistant.
