Search engines are an essential part of modern life, and many people use several different ones throughout the day as they move from one site to another. The search engine landscape has changed dramatically over the past few years as Google has solidified its position as the go-to search engine.

However, there are still plenty of others that are worth exploring if you’re looking to get more out of your browsing experience or if you simply want to try something new. Here’s a list of the migliori motori di ricerca in the world, ranked by the number of searches each month.

Google

There are many search engines available online and Google is the most popular by far. With a market share of over 90% in the U.S. and over 80% worldwide, it’s no wonder that people all over the world use Google as their primary search engine. Larry Page and Sergey Brin built the first Google index while they were graduate students at Stanford University. Originally called BackRub, the popularity of this service led to its current name Google (a play on googol).

Nowadays, it provides not only web search for billions of users around the world but also free email services through Gmail, an internet browser (Chrome), office productivity tools (Google Docs), operating systems (Android), hardware devices like smartphones or tablets (Nexus) and social networking services such as YouTube. It is hard to imagine how someone could live without using any of these products daily!

Bing

In contrast to other popular search engines such as Google and Yahoo! which are based in the United States, Bing is based in Washington. It was launched on June 3rd, 2009. Microsoft, who created it, also owns 90% of the company. Bing focuses more on web pages from reputable sources such as major newspapers and magazines than from sources with a lower credibility rating.

It is also believed that Bing uses its own technology for interpreting queries and returning relevant results, which means that, unlike Google which includes ads at the top of some of its search results pages, Bing displays a greater number of non-sponsored links. Some experts believe that Bing may become a bigger player in the search engine market because of these advantages over Google.

Yahoo

Yahoo is one of the most popular search engines in the world, used by millions of people every day to find what they’re looking for. Yahoo is a part of Oath Inc., a subsidiary of Verizon Communications. Oath’s assets also include AOL and HuffPost. Yahoo has been around since 1994 and reached an agreement with Google to be powered by their search engine in 1998, which lasted until 2015.

Filo was serving as research director at Stanford University Libraries. One of its features is email, which was originally developed out of another service called RocketMail (which would later evolve into America Online). It also includes news from various sources, such as CBS News, AP News, Fox News, and Reuters. Yahoo!’s logo combines the two words yet and oo, forming the word Yahoo! In June 2017 it became known that Yahoo! helped the US government spy on its users through a PRISM surveillance program.
