Television creators often come up with original content – some of the best fresh shows of recent times include Squid Game and Better Call Saul. A lot of the time, however, screenwriters turn to other sources for inspiration. Indeed, adaptations of content from other areas of the entertainment industry seem to rule the roost in the streaming era.

Online casinos represent one of the most bustling sectors in entertainment, but the games from this industry are rarely made into television series. As the titles get more advanced and detailed, this could be set to change.

Plenty of Slot Games Have Become Huge Franchises

Ever since casinos moved to an online setting, slots have been evolving. The most striking thing about these online games is that they all have their own themes. For instance, the Betfair online slots include fishing titles like Big Bass Hold & Spinner Megaways, Wild West offerings like Bounty Raid 2, and movie-themed options like Ted Cash Lock. The games have artwork, symbols, and features that reflect their theme and provide players with a highly immersive experience.

Certain titles gained such widespread popularity that players hungered for more, with developers duly providing them with other games in the same series. Gonzo’s Quest, for example, led to a Megaways sequel and a female-led spinoff entitled Gonzita’s Quest. Another example is Age of the Gods. The ancient Greece-themed title is one of the biggest games in the industry, and it has led to various others in the franchise including Age of the Gods: Goddess of Wisdom and Age of the Gods: King of Olympus. There are even Norse spinoff titles in the series now.

Slot games like these have become sprawling franchises that are instantly recognizable. They could easily expand into other media to boost their notoriety further. It certainly wouldn’t be out of the question to suggest that television series could be made based on any of these games.

Television Series are Often Inspired by Other Works

One of the most successful strategies in the television industry is to find a high-quality original work from another area of entertainment and then transform it for the small screen. This has worked for countless series in recent times, with Game of Thrones being one of the best-known examples. According to Icy Tales, the HBO offering is the greatest series ever made. Thanks to the incredible standard of the works of George R. R. Martin, showrunners David Benioff and D. B. Weiss were able to adapt it into multi-award-winning material.

The Walking Dead was another adaptation that spawned a sprawling television universe. Adapted from the comic book by Robert Kirkman, the series ran for 11 seasons and spawned various spinoffs, including the recently released The Walking Dead: Dead City. The Variety review stated that the new title had great storytelling, harking back to the early days of the flagship series.

With all the countless adaptations on television, it may not be long before some popular slot titles are made into series. It makes sense – these games attract massive audiences who would doubtlessly want to see live versions of them on screen.
