Music has and always will be a viable career path for hundreds of thousands of people. We’re seeing time and time again that new rappers are the bloodline of the industry. With fresh faces, new names, and striking lyrics, even Tik Tok rappers are making a name for themselves. Throughout the past 12 months, we’ve seen the hype around some of these rappers. And as such, here is a list of the five up-and-coming rappers to check out in 2022.

Baby Tate

Thanks to Nicki Minaj and Doja Cat, women are getting more into rap now than ever before. Baby Tate is one of the hottest up-and-comers in the rap game for quite some time now. Her first hit single, “I Am,” already has 3 million views on YouTube and more than a million views on SoundCloud. Some of her other popular songs included “Pedi” with nearly a million views on YouTube, “Mean Girl,” with more than 1.5 million views, and “Damn Daniel” with half a million views.

Taking inspiration from the immense success of Doja Cat, Baby Tate is one of the most exciting female rappers that can spit bars and rhyme.

Big Walk Dog

Big Walk Dog is already a household name in the rap community. His success can be attributed to his musical talent and ability to spit any bar. Big Walk Dog has quite a following on social media. He has nearly 500,000 followers on Instagram, and his music has millions of clicks. His most popular song, “Poppin,” has 28 million views on YouTube. The song is a collab with Gucci Mane and probably the reason why he is so popular in 2022.

But Big Walk Dog is anything from your average one-hit-wonder. Another song titled “Whole Latta Ice” has 16 million views, with plenty of other songs attracting similar numbers. It’s safe to say that there is a cult following around Big Walk Dog. He’s been in the spotlight for a year or so and already has two albums to his name. BIA

Yet another female rapper making a name for herself in an industry predominantly male-dominant, BIA launched into the spotlight with her 2022 single, “Whole Lotta Money.” The song has 14 million views on YouTube, and fans are already talking about the striking similarities between her and the likes of Nicki Minaj and Doja Cat.

But BIA, just like Big Walk Dog, has been rapping ever since a kid. Her music includes bangers like “Can’t Touch This,” “Besito,” “Same Hands,” and more. With nearly a hundred million views across all platforms, BIA is a name that will one day rival the best female rappers in the game.

Duke Deuce

Duke Deuce has been in the spotlight for quite some time now. The Memphis-born rapper launched into mainstream two years ago with his hit single “Crunk Aint Dead.” The song has more than 50 million views across all platforms, and that helped him create a remix with the likes of Lil Jon, Juicy J, and Project Pat.

Duke’s other popular songs included “Gangsta Party” with 10 million views, “I Aint Worried Bout It” with 2 million views, “Spin” with 4 million views, and his freestyle special, “Duke Nukem Frestylee,” with 5 million views. It’s safe to say that 2021 has been successful for Duke Deuce, hence why he makes the list of up-and-comers to watch out for in 2022.

EST GEE

Thanks to a collaboration with Lil Baby back in 2021, EST GEE launched into stardom after releasing his debut mixtape “BIgger Than Life or Death.” EST GEE has a huge following and collaborates with other prominent rappers such as Lick Back, Yo Gotti, and 42 Dugg, among others. His songs have millions of views across YouTube and streaming platforms, with his most popular ones being “Get Money,” “Lamgorhini Geeski,” “5500 Degrees,” “Members Only,” “and Who Hotter Than GEE.”

A successful 2021 means EST GEE is one of the hottest properties in the rap game this year. The industry speculates an album collab with Lil Baby and the rest of the “4 Pockets Full” group that includes the likes of 42 Dugg and Rylo Rodriguez. Some even say EST GEE will sign for 4 Pockets Full and become a full-time member in the future.

That concludes our list of the five up-and-coming rappers to check out in 2022. Some of these names are already known in the industry, while others are predicted to make 2022 their best year yet. Do you know anything about these rappers? If so, you probably know the hype surrounding them.
